2. People who are willing to get off their ass to search the entire room for the tv remote because they refuse to walk to the tv and change the channel manually.

3. When people say "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too". Damn right! What good is cake if you can't eat it?

After reading the May issue of Teen Vogue, I tried to sign up for the magazine's It Girl advisory panel and was told that I am too old.

Despite this setback, I will review the magazine anyway.

Highlights: E-Cards: Bags on page 26 (very fun, very clever); Get Shorty, page 80 (not so into the short-shorts, but the denim bermudas are fantastic); Factory Girl (article about Edie Sedgwick SO excited to learn that Sienna Miller will play Edie on the big screen); Band Aid, page 107 (am thrilled to see headbands are back 'in' since I am growing out these awful bangs); Fabulous little navy jacket on page 126; Salad Daze, page 149 (eating = good), Free Spirit, page 167 (Sienna Miller = cool)

Yuck: Working Girls, page 152....don't any of these girls have normal internships?; Next in Line...does the world really need another Barton? (I vote NO).

Here is my review of the May Shop Etc (A magazine which I feel is no where as fantastic as Lucky but I read it religiously every month hoping for improvement. They can never say I wasn't supportive.)

# of pages dog-eared: 3 (average for this publication)
Highlights: "Jack Rogers Navajo Sandals" page 172 (Not that I know the history, I feel that I should have a pair); Danielle Stevens "Lucky Me" necklace on page 38; The chick's hair on page 142 (This is the way I look on the beach, too).
Overall Comments: This magazine's strength lies in its Home Department.

This year I decided to use my tax refund to re-create my wardrobe, which makes this year no different than any other. Sure, I could have used the money for a vacation or my retirement fund, but Spring 2005 only comes once in a lifetime.

Here is what I have bought so far:
1. v. cute cropped, fitted green jacket with perfectly placed button at collar (from Zara)*
2. v. v. cute ivory cropped jacket with cool metallic weaving (from Zara)*
3. black and white full ethinic skirt from Forever 21 for hanging out in the Hamptons with boyfriend (boyfriend TBD)
4. brown metallic shirt vest from H&M
5. vintage houndstooth capelet**
6. cropped tan pants
7. cropped pin stripped pants (which I forgot about until just now UPDATE: 4/8/05: I have decided to return these as I found another very similar pair in my 'summer clothes' box UPDATE 4/10/05: Returned)

1. work pants (UPDATE 4/8/05: I purchased a fantastic pair of work pants from Banana Republic. Of course, they were the last pair in the store and they are a size 6, to boot. Now I just need 6 or 7 more pairs like them.)
2. denim that doesn't make my a** look huge (UPDATE 4/8/05: becoming convinced this is impossible as a** is huge)
3. basic tee's (UPDATE: 4/10/05: Have been making progress but have long way to go)
4. comfy summer shoes for commuting

7. little jacket Joy and I searched high and low for from Anthropologie (UPDATE 4/8/05: I went to Anthropologie and showed amazing restraint when I refrained from purchasing the jacket. I just borrow Joy's.)

I didn't get a very good night's sleep last night because I was up all night thinking about the Dr. Scholl's shoes I want and which color to get. As I was still undecided this morning. I brought the issue to my Panel of Experts. Here is what they had to say:

Joy: They have a little of an orthopedic look but could be cute with the right outfits. seem good for walking to work.
Me: Okay, what color tho? (I don't think they will look ortho on me b/c I am sort of cute)
Joy: I like the tan or if they have white. no bright color.
Kelly: I'll bet you're getting pink! I like green or black, but I think the red and pink are pretty kicky too.
Lisa: I would get a darker color. The lighter ones will get dirty really quickly especially if you are planning to wear them often.

I haven't heard back from Andrea yet, but I am sure she'd be supportive of my decision. I am getting the tan (I think.)

UPDATE:
Andrea just called in from the Shake Shack in Madison Square Park (Thank Goodness, I was beginning to worry) and said her vote is for pink, that she would probably get black and that tan looks like Jesus sandles.

So I said to Kelly, "Andrea thinks the shoes look like Jesus sandles" and Kelly said, "well they do"

Then I spoke to Joy and she said "I don't think so but I see why she says that..more earthy or something. I don't think they will look like jesus sandles on you. (Me: True, Jesus didn't have a red pedicure and cute feet....or did he?) Joy: can you try them on anywhere to see for sure? Well, Zappos has free shipping and free return shipping, so you won't lose any money if you order them and then don't like the color. I say you go with your first instinct.

I can't remember what my first instinct was anymore.
This is really stressful.
